Product packaging plays the role of marking information and protection in supply chain transportation, and also has a great influence in the process of product sales, so both sides of the trade require no less packaging quality control of the product than the product itself.
The packaging quality control of the product first checks the appearance information of the package. Because the packaging appearance information of products often involves the laws and regulations enforced by the state, as well as the standards and content information agreed by the trade parties, it is necessary to strictly check whether the information is complete and meets the specified requirements. Therefore, CLI’s appearance inspection focuses on safety, hygiene, environmental protection, information and other items, and combines with customer requirements inspection. For example, some countries stipulate that plastic packaging should have holes in the plastic packaging bag and whether nail cartons should be used in the outer carton.
Second, the inspection of physical data such as package structure, thickness, size and weight. Some special packages even require inspectors to check the physical data such as the constant temperature effect and internal humidity of the package when packaging quality control , so as to ensure that the products are well protected during transportation.
Third, functional inspection of packaging. Excess space will lead to collision of the product during transportation or handling, and insufficient space will lead to improper product loading, extrusion and even breakage.
Fourth, in packaging quality control , the free drop test after packaging of products, i.e. drop box test, is a routine inspection item, unless special products can choose not to do drop box test, such as glass products. Before the test, check the appearance and function of the product and outer box to ensure they are in good condition. After the free drop test, also check the appearance and function of the product and outer box to confirm whether there is any serious appearance defect or function damage. If there is any defect, it is not qualified and vice versa.
